This class is designed to give younger artists the start of an overview of art history, artists and the chance to draw and paint using the ideas and techniques of famous artists. We will cover artists children can easily relate to, such as Warhol, Van Gogh, Michelangelo, Matisse, but will also branch out to other artists they may not know.

Art Literacy - Art 222This term we'll continue to look at different artists - we still have a couple more women to check out - and paint and draw our own works each week. Spring makes me think Impressionism - so we'll go from there. As it warms up, we'll take our drawing boards and go outside for some plein air! |

Art LiteracyHow much do we love our easels? You look like the accomplished artists you are when you're standing in front of your easels! In the spirit of looking at women artists, we're going to check out Georgia O'keefe - a fascinating woman who left New York to live alone in the desert. Her paintings are sometimes close up views of flowers and natural objects. We'll translate her ideas into our own paintings this week. |
